PROTONEURON · RESEARCH LAB v22.1

The Living Curriculum. More Fuel.

OFFLINE SINGLE HTML · NO INSTALLER · NO NETWORK

Train the weights. Occasionally evolve the wiring. Let each promising new anatomy relearn. Climb from 3% to 100% distal gravity only when performance qualifies—then keep evolving at full gravity for as many rounds as you want. Never throw away a winning brain just because the original fuel tank ran dry.

01 / One button. One curriculum. Unlimited refills.

Start normally, then add more learning rounds whenever you wish. The same evolved brains continue.

One button launches a moderate 420-round experiment. Press Add Fuel & Run to extend the SAME experiment; promotion through 100% gravity does not stop evolution. Four-second physics trials remain unchanged. Export JSON before closing for reliable backup.
Optional controls · experiment design
Two ideas can be tested here: turn rewiring OFF to test weight learning alone, or turn diversity OFF to test a purely score-driven pool. The final independent benchmark should be run on a separate set of starting conditions.

Rewiring requires retuning before a candidate is judged. Top fitness is always preserved; secondary champions must be meaningfully different in motor response.

04 / Diverse champion archive

Best performer is protected. Other survivors are retained for contrasting action patterns—not just different wire addresses.

Fresh independent tests use a separate seed family. The training gate is reused during learning, so its scores are selection metrics—not final unbiased evidence.

05 / Neural microscope and cart replay

Physics: 1.5 kg cart, three 0.4 kg distal point masses, 0.6 m links, RK4 at 20 ms; 45 N motor and 2.4 m track.

Hover over any neuron or click to pin it. Lines show the three real incoming fibers of the selected neuron; green/violet is actual firing sign.

Inspect neuron
Start an experiment, then select a champion to inspect.
Each neuron has exactly three inputs. The 27 motor neurons also feed a learned 27-way motor readout, and the optional eight sensor shortcuts bypass this restriction at the motor—not inside any neuron.
